The Process

Thank you for your interest in Executive Custom Homes. We want your new home to give you a lifetime of
pleasure, pride and comfort. This process should also be fun. Yes, designing and building your home should be
fun! We want this to be a pleasurable event for you and will do everything we can to make it so. The design
and building of your home is a complex task but should not be overwhelming. The purpose of the following
information is to help improve your understanding of the process.

  1. Initial Consultation - In this introductory stage, everyone gets to know one another. We discuss preferred architectural style, features, family needs and lifestyle, building site location, budget considerations and whether you have chosen one of our plans, your own plan or a plan we design with our design/build services. We may also discuss which lending institution you are considering.
  2. Feasibility - In this step we outline enough detail to develop a rough budget based upon the initial consultation. This will determine added or deleted features that may be desired. There is no charge for this study.
  3. Design/Build - Should you choose one of our standard plans with or without changes or should you have your own architecturaldrawings then there is no charge for estimates. However should you need architectural drawings then there is a non refundable drafting fee. This fee will be refunded when you build with us.
  4. Selections - In this phase you will decide final colors and features of your home. This may affect the final estimate but is also needed to ensure your desires are completed in your new home.
  5. Final Construction Agreement - Upon approval and signing of the construction agreement we will prepare detailed plans, specifications and a payment schedule.
  6. Start Construction - Upon closing your construction loan or paying your first draw we will begin the permit process to begin construction. Throughout the construction phases we communicate with weekly updates, various walkthroughs, and are always on hand to answer any of your questions. This is the time to watch your dream home materialize.
